After having my road trip’s serendipitous symmetry spoiled this evening (more on that tomorrow) I stopped by Summit Lake State Park. It’s probably my favorite sunset spot, and I was fortunate enough to have a couple of unwitting models to practice silhouettes.
What made the moment sweeter for me is that I was able to share these photos with the young boy’s grandmother. I showed and then texted them to her, and when she asked me several minutes ago if she could share them with attribution, I cleaned them up a bit and posted them online so she could download full-sized copies.
While the title of this post might (and does) apply to her feelings , I’m happy as well. I’m glad I took them, I’m glad she liked them , and I hope the photos of the boy and his uncle are something they keep permanently.

Yeah no need to hope - I’m sure they’ll treasure those photos, they’re gorgeous.
And a very tranquil, simple shot with her grandson in it.
Nice w ork!

Thanks! Now I’m looking at a battery-powered mobile AirPrint printer and wishing I’d had one with me...because of course I need to spend $300 plus ink and paper costs on the off-chance something like this would ever happen again.
I do like to be prepared, but usually that means buying something overpriced the day after it would have been useful.

I would just uploade them to walgreens and have them print it. Way cheaper and you can select different locations to print, that way your subjects can pick them up and pay for it at there convience.

Good idea. Not as much fun but way more practical.
